While Apple is still trying to bring the iOS 15 operating system to the stable version, iPhone models that will receive the iOS 16 version, which will be released next year, started to be discussed. So which iPhone models will receive the update?
According to the leaked information, iPhone 6S and earlier iPhone models will not receive the iOS 16 version. However, the reason for this is that the next operating system needs a minimum A10 processor. In addition, devices using A9 and A9x processors will not be able to receive the iOS 16 update. In other words, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, 1st generation iPhone SE, iPad 5, iPad Mini 4, iPad Air 2 and 1st generation iPad Pro will not be able to access the new operating system next year.
On the other hand, Apple has continued to support all its devices with new iOS versions for the last 3 years. In iOS 13, iOS 14 and iOS 15 versions, support was not discontinued from any device. In 2022, devices with processors below A10 will not be able to receive the iOS 16 update. However, it is thought that these devices will continue to receive security updates.
